FOCUSING ON: WOMEN AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, 23 rd FEB 2021
Today's human beings face fundamental problems, some of which are characteristic of the contemporary era and are unique features of our time. Among these, we can mention the environmental crisis, the consequences of which can be traced to global warming, pollution and destruction of nature, as well as the social crisis, which is characterized by domestic, social, political violence and visible poverty. Interestingly, the two are moving in relative proportions.
This ratio has imprisoned contemporary man in a circular process, and this prison is the result of his own actions. The construction of the walls of this prison is based on his consuming lifestyle and climate change, and the stimulation of each of these buildings strengthens the other. This ring prison, as emphasized, appears in the dimensions of the environmental crisis, such as air pollution, water, soil and the destruction of plant and animal species, and social dimensions such as violence and poverty. Since this crisis has overshadowed all human achievements in various historical periods, it has also become a philosophical issue. For this reason, the contemporary environmental crisis is not analyzed merely as an environmental or technological or social issue, but emerges in the context of a philosophical issue.
Due to the relative awareness of the society about the current environmental crisis and its socio-economic and health effects, the need to focus on the argument for such a crisis has diminished.
Contemporary human beings are accustomed to adopting a technology-based approach (such as green technology, artificial intelligence, etc.) to overcome their crises. The experience of the last three decades suggests that technology itself is one of the hallmarks of these crises. Therefore, it is time to redefine the issue of sustainable development and solutions to the environmental crisis, according to human capacity, in addition to science and technology. This means that in addition to the technology-based approach, there is also a human approach to get out of the crisis mentioned, in which the existential capacity of man himself is sought. This may seem like a traditional approach, but with a little thought, it becomes new.
In this regard, the 15th International Conference on Green Management, along with understanding the importance of knowledge and technology to overcome the contemporary environmental crisis, which has also become a social, health and political issues, intends to this period of the conference on the capacity of human existence Focus more seriously and make the novelty of this type of human capacity discovery more transparent.
The Green Management Association of Iran and the Human Resources Empowerment Foundation of Iran have had a change in the style of holding their conferences since 2016 in order to reduce resource consumption, which is a serious factor in waste production, and also to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Now, with the outbreak of Covid 19 disease, this change in style and approach has gained momentum. In this regard, this conference will be held virtually in continuation of other courses.
